Chronology · Restricted summary

The past was never gone.

It was buried in bodies, artifacts, institutions, private archives, and beings patient enough to outlive the official record.

The ancient order

The world before decline

Dragons exercise power openly. Human civilization develops beneath, beside, and against an order whose memory will later survive only as myth.

The first hidden war

Dragons and witches

Weapons are created to sever, suppress, and kill magical beings. The origins of several surviving artifacts disappear behind victory, shame, and deliberate concealment.

The long decline

Magic recedes

Dragons enter stasis or survive by exceptional means. Descendants remain in human form. Institutions turn remembered events into religion, folklore, disputed history, or nothing at all.

The modern preparation

Rise of the Wicked

Policy, belief, church authority, and hidden influence converge. A damaged chapel and its sealed history reveal that the modern crisis has active architects.

The threshold event

A Destiny of Dragons

Global magic reaches the level required to open ancient dens. Surviving Elders awaken into a world that does not recognize their authority or understand how much dragon ancestry remains alive within it.

Inside the war

Rise of the Stone

A mission to move and employ the Silence Stone unfolds within the late pressure of the awakening conflict, linking ancient artifact history to the postwar world.

The Accords era

A Harvest of Dragons

A legal peace forms before trust exists. Reconstruction produces markets, investigations, trafficking, magical industry, and evidence that transforms the meaning of every permanent talisman.

The first public future

A Future of Dragons

Coexistence moves beyond cease-fire language. New life, public identity, fertility, representation, territory, faith, and consent force the world to decide what shared survival actually requires.

  7. Arash and changing mage fertility make a shared future biological and political rather than merely contractual.

Where each book sits

The novellas do different work.

Rise of the Wicked is a true origin story and leads directly into the modern threshold. Rise of the Stone is a companion mission that overlaps the closing war in A Destiny of Dragons and clarifies consequences that drive A Harvest of Dragons.

That is why the recommended route places Wicked before Book One and Stone immediately after it.
